International Programmes

Marmara University has established a wide-ranging network with international partners, both institutionally and individually. Our university, which carries out active cooperation and exchange agreements with 270 institutions, has a strong international position.

The Erasmus exchange programme is seen to be one of the most important vehicles in achieving this position.

Marmara University was included in the Erasmus programme in 2003-2004 as one of 15 Turkish pilot universities. Today our university has signed approximately 350 bilateral agreements. The most active of these is the Erasmus programme, which sends 340 students abroad and brings 320 students to Turkey a year.

Marmara University, via the International Office, is actively carrying out the European Commission Life Long Learning Programme.

The International Office directs the international relations and cooperation in the programmes with our international partners.

The activities of the International Office can be grouped under three main headings:
- EU Education, Erasmus and Youth Programmes Coordinator
- European Projects (FP7, Research Projects)
- International Partners Coordinator (Double Major, Joint Diploma Programme)
