General Description ^
History
Students take a 5-year education and earn a bachelor's degree in Physics Education program. At the Physics Education Program, the courses related to physics Science are taugth by instructors of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the courses related to physics teaching field training and pedagogical formation courses are taught by instructors of the Faculty of Education.
Qualification Awarded
Upon completion of the program, the students become a physics teacher.
Specific Admission Requirements
students must take the YGS and the LYS exam given by the OSYM. OSYM selects the students according to those exam scores.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
To be graduted from a eigth years primary school program and then To be graduted from a four years secondary school program

students must complete theoritacal and pratical requirements of the program successfully.
Profile of The Programme
This program aims to provide an extensive knowledge and skills on basic physical & pedagogical concepts, research fields, research approaches & techniques in physics education and current educational applications. The program aims to educate effective researchers who can contibute scientific knowledge in the field, reflective practitioners and, life-long learners. The program also aims to prepare & equip students for MS and PhD degree.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Students who graduated from this program can work at public or private secondary schools as physics teachers or continue to study as academics at various universities. Academic career at national and international universities, education consultants at sate and private education institutions
Access to Further Studies
Our graduates can apply to graduate studies in physics education, science education or educational sciences. In order to be accepted candidates should meet the criteria identified by related graduate school.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
When calculating grades, %40 of the grade taken in midterm exam and %60 of the grade taken in final exam are used and Students must get DD, DC, CC, CB, BB, BA or AA to succeed a course. Moreove, minimum grade of final exam is 40/100 and Minimum grade of average is 25/100.
Graduation Requirements
At the Marmara University in Turkey, in order to succesfully graduate from physics teaching program a student must be succesfull at all the required and elective courses taken during the program. Moreover, students must finish the program with a minmum GPA of 2.00 over 4.00

Facilities
Department of Physics Education was established to meet the needs of teachers in secondary schools. Lessons are conducted on the basis of the semester. In this program, two associate professors, 1 assistant professor, 1 lecturer and a research assistant are on duty. Lectures are supported laboratory practices. There are some computer labs available to students. In addition, the profession of teaching in secondary schools to raise student self-made ​​internship. Students earn a BS degree wtih this program.
Key Learning Outcomes ^
1 Students will attain knowledge and skills in Physics and Physics Educations supported by application tools and equipment and will have an understanding of basic concepts in the field.
2 Students will be able to effectively define, collect and use the necessary data for solving problems as defined in the Physics and Physics Education.
3 Students will be able to clearly explain designs and applications related to Physics and Physics Education to their colleagues, as well as to their superiors and to carry out teamwork.
4 The students will be able to demonstrate independent learning skills and be able to apply what have been learned.
5 The students will demonstrate the ability to identify problems that have occurred due to unforeseen situations in Physics and Physics Education and find solutions.
6 Students will have knowledge about and awareness of social responsibility, ethical values and rights of social security in matters related to Physics and Physics Education
7 Students will attain knowledge about and awareness of job security, worker health and environmental protection in issues related to Physics and Physics Education.
8 Students will attain advanced knowledge and understanding supported by textbooks, equipment and other scientific resources related to Physics and Physics Education.
9 Students will be able to evaluate concepts, ideas and data with scientific methods, to identify and analyze complex problems, to make arguments and to develop recommendations based on evidence and research.
10 Students will be able to demonstrate the ability to inform non-specialist or specialist audiences on physics and physics education and to transfer problems and solutions in verbal and written forms.
