History
Marmara University, Faculty of Theology is part of Marmara University, one of the largest and oldest universities in Turkey. It is the largest Faculty of Theology in Turkey.

B.A in Theology
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are placed through University Entrance Exam (YGS) for Turkish citizens, and through Foreign Students Exam (YÖS) for foreign students. Both exams are governed by OSYM, Student Selection and Placement Center. In addition, candidates from Turkish and relative communities outside Turkey with a valid international exam score such as baccalaureate, French baccalaureate, Matura, Maturita are also admitted as students.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Students who were previously educated-trained in another higher education institution are exempted from the courses they completed.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
A mendatory English language preparatory class is required prior to the program. At the beginning of Fall and Spring semesters students take a proficiency exam. Successful candidates are exempted from the required prep class.
Profile of The Programme
In addition to required courses on Islamic studies, there is a wide variety of elective courses in the program. The elective classes are designed according to students' demands and needs.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
Our graduates are employed in the Ministry of Religious Affairs as muftis, imams etc., and Morals and Religious Culture teachers by the Ministry of Education.
Access to Further Studies
Our graduates can apply to graduate programmes with and without thesis.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The grades of the students are total of mid-terms and finals. Mid-terms are worth of %40, and finals are %60.
Graduation Requirements
Minimum required grade for graduation is 2 out of 4.

1 Students will be able to read and understand religious text books.
2 Students learn the correct usage of basic concepts of Islamic Sciences.
3 Students acquire information about the developmental processes of Islamic Sciences.
4 Students gain information and ability in the history of Islam, Islamic Culture, Islamic Art and Islamic Literature.

6 Students are able to attain information, evaluate the same and make comparisons about religion, sects and modern religious movements.
7 Students are able to find solutions for the religious and moral needs of society via Islamic values.
