General Description ^
History
Marmara University Department of Mechanical Engineering was established in 1993 and the first students to graduate education began in 1994. After a preparatory period for the first undergraduate students in the academic year 1997-1998 was adopted. Mechanical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering in line with the vision, the selection of the areas of education and research computer-aided design and manufacture of new products to be made. Turkey, as part of customs through the opening, to increase the competitiveness of their industry with the European Union countries that stage. For this purpose, global thinking, the new design and manufacturing technologies and research and development activities is of vital importance. Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Before the formal institutions of the Turkish Higher Education (formal) recognition of learning in the vertical, horizontal, and the university is in the transitions, the Higher Education Authority has identified "HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS AND ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAMS BETWEEN THE TRANSITION LEVEL, DOUBLE MAJOR, MINOR AND TRANSFER OF CREDIT INSTITUTIONS ON BASIS OF INTER-REGULATION" carried out within the scope. Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Modern Mechanical Engineering education is given part, with the exception of English language training period of four years. Students with a sufficient level of English can start directly from the first year of training section. The department of education is done entirely in English. Profile of The Programme
Mission of the Department of Mechanical Engineering Marmara University, using the knowledge and skills within the framework of the technological advances that serve society, science and technology development in the country and around the world and contributed to the spread, national and international level, every area of mechanical engineering where the knowledge and skills to take active roles in professional and equipped Mechanical engineers are ethical responsibility to educate the owner. Access to Further Studies

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading

Facilities
In recent years, Member of the enriched teaching section is still important participations 7 Professors, 1 Associate Professor, 4 Associate Professor Yardrrnci, 5 and 7 research assistants lecturer. CAD / CAM systems, including testing laboratories, as well as introducing applications of machine mühendislği Electrical Laboratory, CFD Lab, Machining Workshop, PIV laboratory, Fluid Mechanics laboratories are available.
