History
Analitic Chemistry Program was established in fall semester of 1988-1989 academic year. During this period, Prof. Dr. Adnan Aydın was appointed as the first ‘chair of the program. From this date, program chair is Prof. Dr. Adnan Aydın. There are one proffesors and one associated proffesor and one assistant proffesor in analitic Chemistry Program. Education Language is Turkish.
Qualification Awarded
Master's Degree on Analytical Chemistry.
Specific Admission Requirements
a. Bachelor's Degree; b. A minumum score 60 out of 100 in Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Edeucation Admittance Examination (ALES) which is centrally administrated by Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The candidates who have Bachelor's Degree in several fileds such as biology, physics, chemistry, chemistry education, chemistry engineering, environmental engineering, food engineering, material engineering etc. may apply to the programme.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Overall qualificaiton point which is calculated by use of, a. 50% of Academic Personnel and Postgraduate Educatino Admittance (ALES) score b. 30% of the score obtained in the porfessional exam. conducted by an excamination comittee c. 20% of the total interview score which is composed 50% interview scorei, 20% transcript CGPA and 30% of foreign language score should be minimum 60 out of 100 in order to be in the candidate's line.
Profile of The Programme
The porgramme consists of two essential parts; soruces and the thesis. The cources are related with the analytical chemistry aspects detailed in several fields such as advanced instrumental analysis, equilibrium reactions, seperation methods, chromatography, mathematic methods in chemistry, statistical methods in chemistry, special topics in analytical chemistry etc.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
This degree and titles the holder to exercise the rights and previlages of the profession. Graduates can work at different positions of occupations in the whole governmental and non-governmental (private) sectors, as a member of wroking teams in the fields of quality control, research and developmet and production.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates of Master of Analytical Chemistry may apply to doctoral programs which are compatible with the field of Analytical Chemistry and other scientific areas. If they are successful they are accepted to the doctoral programs.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The passing achievement grade of each course should be minimum 65/100. In the calculation of final achievement grade of course, raitos of the grades obtained from the mid-term(s) and final examinations are taken as 50% of each. The grade (S) and grade (U) are used for the Seminar Course and Master's Thesis. The grade (S) is given to students who are successful and the grade (U) is given to students who are not successful. The student's standing is calculated in the forms of a GPA and a CGPA and anounced at the end of each semester by the Registirar's Office. The total score obtained by the student in a particular education period is calculated by the summing up individual scores which are obtained via the multiplicaiton of the final achievement grade by the credit of the course. In order to obtain the GPA for any given semester, the total score earned in that semester is divided by the sum of credits. The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses taken by a student starting from her/his registration.
Graduation Requirements
Students must successfully complete at least 21 credit hours of lessons and non-credit Seminar and also prepare and successfully defend a M. Sc. thesis. 9 hours of the 21 credit hours must be taken from the core lessons. Students must give a seminar about their thesis. Also every semester during the thesis studies, students must pass the non-credit theoretical courses.

Facilities
The facilities of chemistry Department are available for all graduate students of Analitic Chemistry Program. Qualified students of the program are equipped with research laboratories that include the following instrumentations: HPLC, Atomic absorption, DSC,fluorometer, UV spectrophotometer
Key Learning Outcomes ^
1 Gain a graduate level of understanding in analytical chemistry.
2 Improve the undergraduate knowledge and skills in chemistry and interdisciplinary sciences.
3 Have sufficient level of knowledge in a common Europian language in order to read, understand, and translate scientific articles.
4 Acquire the basic tools needed to formulate a research proposal, to carry out a chemical research, to write the results and publish them.
