Programme has been established in 2002 and the first students have been enrolled for the period of 2002-2003 fall semester.

Specific Admission Requirements
a. Bachelor's Degree; b. A minimum score 60 out of 100 in Academic Personnel and Post-Graduate Education Admittance Examination (ALES) which is centrally administrated by Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM).
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
The candidates who have bachelor's degree in several fields such as biology, chemistry, physics, education, psychology, sociology, law, management, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, bioengineering, mechanical emgineering, meteorological engineering, endustrial engineering, public health, labor safety, economics etc may apply to the programme.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Overall qualification point which is calculated by use of, a. 50% of Academic Personnel and Post Graduate Education Admittance Examination (ALES) score b.30 % of the score obtained in the professional exam conducted by an examination committee c. 20 % of the total interview score which is composed of 50% interview score, 20% transcript CGPA and 30% of foreign language score should be minimum 60 out of 100 in order to be in the candidate's line.
Profile of The Programme
The programme consists of two essential parts: courses and the thesis. The courses are related with the environmental aspects detailed in several fields such as education, communication, ecology, pollution kinds and their appearance and reduction , chemical, biological and physical behaviours of the pollutants, limnology, toxicology, public health, interactions between non-living and living species, labor safety, statistics, management, research methodology, law and finance.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
This degree entitles the holder to exercise the rights and privileges of the profession. Graduates can work at different positions of occupations in the both governmental and non-governmental (Private) sectors, as a member of the working teams in the fields of environmental affairs which use the processes of monitoring, protection, planning and controlling the environment.
Access to Further Studies
Graduates may apply to national and international doctoral programmes or to the specifically sertificated programmes.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
The passing achievement grade of each course should be minimum 65/100. In the calculation of final achievement grade of course, the weight ratios of the grades obtained from the mid-term(s) and final examinations are taken as 50% of each. The grade (S) and grade (U) are used for the Seminar course and Master's Thesis. The grade (S) is given to students who are successful, and the grade (U) is given to students who are not successful. The student's standing is calculated in the forms of a GPA and a CGPA and announced at the end of each semester by the Registrar's Office. The total score obtained by the student in a particular education period is calculated by the summing up individual scores which are obtained via the multiplication of the final achievement grade by the credit of the course. In order to obtain the GPA for any given semester, the total score earned in that semester is divided by the sum of credits. The CGPA is calculated by taking into account all the courses taken by a student starting from her/his registration.
Graduation Requirements
Students should take and succeed in the courses which meet totally minimum 21 credits and should give a seminar which is non-credit. They prepare a thesis and defend their thesis.

Facilities
Environmental Sciences Master Programme is an interdisciplinary programme and the facilities at the laboratories of all disciplines such as chemistry, biology, physics and engineering branches are open to the students.
