History
Master (with thesis) Program in Mechatronics of Marmara University, Institute for Graduate Studies in Pure and Applied Sciences has started to training in fall Semester, in 2002-2003.
Qualification Awarded
Who successfully complete the graduate Program in Mechatronics is qualified to have an MSc Diploma.
Specific Admission Requirements
To have a Bachelor's Degree in these fields: Mechatronics Technology in Training, Mechanical Technology in Training, Metal Works Technology in Training, Electrical Works Technology in Training, Electronics Technology in Training, Computer Technology in Training, Textile Technology in Training, Printing Technology in Training, Mechatronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Control Engineering, Production Engineering, Aircraft Engineering, Environmental Engineering; to receive from ALES (Academic Personal and Graduate Education Entrance Examination) at least 60 points, to receive ÜDS (Language Examination Among Turkish Universities) or equivalent English Exam at least 30 points.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Turkish higher education institutions are at early stage in the process of recognition of prior learning yet. For this reason, all the programs in Marmara University are not fully initialized.
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
Who succesfully completed the 21 credits courses (at least 7 courses) from the Graduate Program or from the related other Programs, who is successful for seminar course and also who gets a score at least 2.50 weighted GPA of 4.00 and finally who successfully defend a thesis in front of a jury selected is awarded bu a Master of Science degree in the field of Mechatronics.
Profile of The Programme
The aim of Mechatronics Master of Science program with thesis is to provide a high-quality theoretical and practical education interested in mechatronics based on their interests and their study fields to teh people having technological undergraduate background. The priority target is to train the academicians and people who will be adapted to new technologies, and will carry out the current and technological knowledge in the working life.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
There are three groups for the working areas of the graduates: Vocational and technical training sector employees (academics and technical trainers), public and private sector employees and having own jobs. Some of our graduates serve as design and application focused in various public an private sector companies and factories. Our graduates are mostly prefer working in the automotive, automation and robotics companies and factories. These are some companies and training our graduates have been working: Festo, Ford Otomotiv, Aymaksan, FIAT, Toyota, SICK, Hilton, Mercedes Benz, Kontek Otomasyon, Gedik Kaynak, Erba Makine, Mega Danismanlik, ITU, Marmara Universitesi, Yeditepe Universitesi, Bahcesehir Universitesi, Celal Bayar Universitesi, Arel Universitesi, the technical and vocaitonal high schools for MEB.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who have successfully completed the MsC degree and students who receive sufficient score from ALES (Academic Personal and Graduate Education Entrance Examination) and sufficient knowledge in English language can apply PhD programs.

Graduation Requirements

Facilities
There are totally 29 academicians including 6 Professors, 7 Associate Professors, 12 Assistant Professors and 4 Research Assistants at Master (with thesis) Mechatronics Program. There are 15 laboratories endowed by modern experiment sets, measurement and test devices in the Mechatronics Department. Applied training has been given compatible with industry needs and cooperation with the industry by G100 - CNC Lab., G101 - Spectrofotometer and Diffractometer Lab., G102 - Material Preparation and Cooling Lab., G103 - CIM Lab., G201 - Pneumatics Lab., G202 - Hydraulics Lab., G203 - CAD CAM Design Lab., G300 - Electrical-Electronics 1 Lab., G301 - Automotive Mechatronics Lab., G302 - Electrical-Electronics 2 Lab., G302a - Process Control Lab., G306 - Data Acquisition Lab.
