Treatment of the severe skeletal head and face region deformities and malocclusions exceeds the limits of orthodontics. The surgeons who are going to perform these surgical interventions, have to work together with the orthodontists especially in the diagnosis and treatment planning stages. Postgraduate orthodontic programme not only gives a general notion of orthodontics to the surgeons but also aims to attain the skills of making cephalometric analysis and planning orthognathic surgery cases as well as to adopt the principles of interdisciplinary work.
