History
Pharmacy Biochemistry Master Programme associated with Health Sciences Institute has started from academic year 1984-1985. Our deparment graduated more than 40 MSc or PhD students since the begining. Our researc intensive Master programme is desinged to prepare students for successful carreers as independent scientists in academic research, biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries and health science management or teaching.
Qualification Awarded
Students who have completed master's degree with thesis in the field of biochemistry gets the degree of scientific expert in biochemistry.
Specific Admission Requirements
To be suitable for Marmara University post-graduate education and training requirements. To complete graduate programmes of pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, veterinary faculties, and biology, biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology and genetics departments of the related faculties, sceince, biology, chemistry teaching departments of edutional faculties, agriculture faculties, chemistry and food engineering departments of engineering faculties. To be successful in scientific assessment and interview.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations
To complete the lessons succesfully (7 lessons, 21 credit, 60 ECTS, seminar) To defense the master thesis in front of the academic jury in success.
Profile of The Programme
To complete biochemical events that occur in living organisms at the molecular level in biochemistry which is an important research field of science in basic sciences. To define the structures of cells that make up living things. To identify of anabolic and catabolic events that occur in cells, membran transport mechansims, structural and chemical features of blood and blood cells and the relations of these cells with various diseases such as cardiovascular diseases. To determine signal mechansims of various diseases. To arrange in vivo and in vitro experimental studies with laboratory animals and to reach the related sources. To learn the usage and interperation of the sources .
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
The students who have graduated from the biocemistry (pharmacy) master programme, will have job opportunities as a priority with their experiences gained in related fields ( industry related with medicine and medical products in laboratories, in education and in pharmacies). They also acquire the necessary foundation for doctoral program.
Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of a master's degree, graduates may apply to doctoral programs in their fields or in multi-disciplinary areas provided that they scored enough points at the ALES test and have English language competency; and are accepted if they are successful in the interview.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
Forty percent of intra-year assess (visa, homework, projects, and the like) Sixty percent of the year-end assess (final exam, homework, projects and so on) Thesis prepared to be found successful by the academic jury.
Graduation Requirements
Throughout the program received at least 7 courses, with at least 21 credits and 60 ECTS yi successfully complete a seminar course, master thesis prepared by the presence of academic success in front of the jury by providing at least 2.5 grade point average to graduate from the program.
