History
In the Institude of Health Sciences, the program of M.Sc. in Pharmacology given by the Department of Pharmacology, School of Pharmacy, started in 1984-85.
Qualification Awarded
Those completing this programme successfully are given the degree of Master of Science (M.Sc.) in pharmacology
Specific Admission Requirements
To be a graduate of School of Medicine, or to have a bachelors degree (B.Sc.) in Pharmacy or Dentistry.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
To be a graduate of School of Medicine, or to have a bachelors degree (B.Sc.) in Pharmacy or Dentistry.

To complete all the required courses successfully and to prepare and defend successfully the research project done as a thesis for graduation, in front of the academic jury.
Profile of The Programme
Those who are registered students of this programme are required to complete the courses in pharmacology, pharmacokinetics and toxicology of drugs, as well as learning about fields of research in Pharmacology, and methods of pharmacological research. They are expected to carry out and complete a research project in pharmacology as a thesis for graduation.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates With Examples
They can start their studies for a PhD degree in pharmacology and work as academics in pharmacology and/or toxicology in schools of medicine, pharmacy or dentistry, they can work in various departments of drug industry, or in drug development, can work in departments of pharmacovigilance or in drug research laboratories or can work in various departments of Ministery of Health.
Access to Further Studies
Those having a PhD degree in pharmacology can proceed with their studies for further academic degrees in Pharmacology

Facilities
This program will help to improve increase national and international interaction in order to impove the education of those involved, will communicate with Universities and other educational programs as well as research institutes in order to improve education and enable student exchange and help evolution. By offering PhD programs in this field , will be able to prevent going abroad for higher education, thus preventing brain exodus. A differentcurriculum will be offered in order to enable the students to take courses from diffferent disciples.

8 can evaluate drug investigation projects or papers, studies
9 can work in pharmacovigilance centers or do pharmacovigilance studies

11 can evaluate toxic effects of drugs
12 can give education on subjects concerning drugs
13 can give education on rational use of drugs
14 can work as an advisor on dugs
