History
Cosmetology Department was founded in 1991. It is one of the sub department of Marmara University, Faculty of Pharmacy, Division of Pharmaceutical Technology.
Qualification Awarded
Graduate students who succeeded all the requirements of the program get Masters Degree
Specific Admission Requirements
Graduate student of Faculty of Pharmacy, chemical engineering or chemistry
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The duration of Master degree in Pharmaceutical Technology area is 2 years. Students who succeeded at least 21 credits of class can start the thesis level

Students who finished requirements of Masters Degree know the application areas and the scope of Cosmetology. Know the principle and test techniques of Cosmetology. Knows the information about manufacturing methods in cosmetic industry.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
40% inter semester evaluation (such as midterm, seminars and projects), 60% of Final semester evaluation (such as Final, project). Defense of Master thesis according to the academic requirements.

1 Students who complete this program will become experts in cosmetic science area
2 Students who complete this program will know the anatomical structure of the skin and hair
3 They can design cosmetic products which will be applied to hair
4 They can design cosmetic products which will be applied to skin
5 They can produce shampoos, conditioners, hair dyes, and formulations against dandruff
6 They can produce anti-aging products including creams and gels
7 They can produce products against the harmfull effects of UV radiation
8 The know the legal status and regulations related to cosmetics
9 They know physiology of perspiration and can manufacture anti-perspirant products
10 They recognise classical formulations such as emulsions, suspensions, oily bases, microemulsions
11 They know and manufacture the modern formulations such as nano-particles, liposomes
12 Students who complete this program can be a responsible director for cosmetics companies
13 They can know and produce color cosmetics
14 They can produce personal cleaning items such as liquid soaps, anti-bacterial liquid soaps
15 They can be consultants to consumers on cosmetic products
