History
Institute of Health Sciences was established in July 20 1982 by the statutory decree no. 41 in order to provide graduate and post graduate level education, and education has started in 1982-83 spring term with graduate and post graduate programmes in departments of Medical Faculties. Under the Institute of Health Sciences, ,Medical Pharmacology masters programme with thesis, has started education in 2008-2009 academic year.

Specific Admission Requirements
To be appropriate for regulations of Marmara University Graduate Education. To be graduated from Medical School, Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics,, Medical Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Having minimum Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) score of 60 (mathematical section) and succession in oral examination.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
To be graduated from Medical School, Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics,, Medical Biology, Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

To accomplish courses and to defend the master's thesis succesfully against academical jury.
Profile of The Programme
This programme is structured to introduce basic terms, research areas and methods and current applications in pharmacology education, to provide students to conduct research projects which would help them to improve themselves in pharmacology area and to prepare them for doctoral programme.

They can take charge in various medical organizations or pharmaceutical ındustries as well as proceed to upper degree programmes.
Access to Further Studies
Candidates who accomplished masters programme have to get an acceptable score from ALES and the required language proficiency examination of the applied institue(ÜDS, TOEFL, KPDS) in order to apply doctoral programme.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
General assessment of academic term consists of 40% of mid-term assessmemt (examinations, projects etc.) and 60% of end term assessmet (examinations, projects etc.). Competency of master's thesis is evaluated by academical jury.
Graduation Requirements
Students have to accomplish courses and the thesis is needed to be accepted by academical jury.
