General Description ^
History
Department of Hospital Management on the basis of the Hospital Management and Organization pursues academic studies about production of services of health institutions, financing of health institutions, human resources management, health care marketing, cost management, health systems and policies. Specialists with sufficient knowledge in related areas are trained for health care sector.
Qualification Awarded
Master’s Degree in the field of Hospital Management is given to graduates who successfully completed the programme.
Specific Admission Requirements
Students are admitted by the interview. The number of students and the qualifications of candidates are announced before the beginning of each semester. In this announcement application requirements, deadlines, interview location and date are indicated. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, ALES standart score of 60 must obtain in the relevant score type (Training Of Academic Staff and Postgraduate Entrance Exam is extensively known as ALES and is applied centrally by the Student Selection and Placement Center-ÖSYM ). The equivalence of diplomas obtained abroad licence must be approved by the Higher Educaiton Council (HEC-YÖK). Candidates before the deadline date specified in the announcement, must apply the director of the institute with the required documents such as ALES certificates, diplomas, graduate grades related to graduate courses taken during the undergraduate, indicating the graduation grade average of certified documents, also candidates fill in information related to registration, and the received record number of nominations during online application via internet. Registration procedures of candidates are organized and executed by related institute directorate. Interview notes are over 100 full grades. The grade level of a candidate’s scientific achievement is sum of ALES score of 50%, 20 % of undergraduate grade point average for graduation, interview 15 % grade, 15% of professional knowledge assessment score.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Lateral student transfer is not accepted to Hospital Management MSc program from exact university and instutition, other departments of faculties or equivalent institution at other higher education institution
Qualification Requirements and Regulations
The program consists of a total of not less than 21 local credits, minimum of seven courses, a seminar course and thesis work. Graduate study program consists of compulsory and elective courses. Besides, midterm and final exams, learning activities such as reports, homeworks, quizzes, seminar presentations and project studies are used to assess students’ performance in semester. The student is considered successful related to concerned course grade must be at least 65 out of 100. The student has failed courses, can re-registration or receive other graduate courses if her/his adviser approves. Also, courses can be selected from other institutions of higher education approval of advisor, department head’s recommendation, the Executive Council. If advisor deems appropriate and necessary courses in the PhD program can also be selected. According to the local credit system, non-credit seminar course and thesis work is evaluated as successful or unsuccessful. The student, must register to thesis work for each semester from the beginning of the third semester. A student registered for thesis program must write the results in accordance with the rules of institute and present the thesis work in front of the jury. Completion of the thesis exam, following the defense, jury decides acceptance, rejection or corrections by majority. Within three months following the decision about the need for correction, thesis student must present thesis work in front of the same jury and defends. At the end of this defense program, if the graduate thesis is accepted, the student graduates.

Access to Further Studies
Upon successful completion of a master’s degree graduates, if they take the current ALES note, provide English proficiency, they can apply for doctoral programs in their respective fields an multi-disciplinary areas. They are admitted if they are successful in the interview.
Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading
In general, 40% of in-year assessments (mid-term exams, assignments), 60% of year-end assessments (final exam, assignments, projects, etc.); and the master’s thesis of the student should be considered as successful by the academic jury.
Graduation Requirements
To successfully complete the courses (at least 21 credits) and to successfully defend their master’s thesis in front of the jury; and to score at least an average of 2.5 (over 4).
