History
Medical biology and genetics program, which is affiliated with Faculty of Health Sciences, started to education in 1989-1990 academic years.
Qualification Awarded
Students which are successfully completed the master program with thesis, gain the Medical Biology and Genetics Expert title.
Specific Admission Requirements
Students should be suitable for graduate regulations for education and teaching of Marmara University. Under-graduate education from biomedical sciences (4 year) and biology and molecular biology and genetics program in faculty of science and literature (4 year) have been completed. ALES (in related area) degree should be minimum 60, and successfully passed from scientific evaluation and interview.
Specific Arrangements For Recognition Of Prior Learning (Formal, Non-Formal and Informal)
Under-graduate education from biomedical sciences (4 year) and biology and molecular biology and genetics program in faculty of science and literature (4 year) have been completed.

Profile of The Programme
Registered students to this program will be able to define basic concept in molecular biology and genetics, research fields, identify research techniques and current applications, operate basic molecular, molecular genetics, and cytogenetics techniques, join and evaluate in vitro and in vivo experimental molecular biology and genetics studies, interpret molecular biology and genetics analysis, contribute rutin applications in molecular biology, molecular genetics and cytogenetics, list basic features of cell culture and its application fields, contribute international studies related with molecular biology and genetics, prepare scientific presentation, gain the best presentation skills, define features of conventional microscopy and apply proper statistical methods in molecular biology and genetics.

40 % of generally evaluations within the year (exam, assignment, project, etc.), 60 % of end of the year evaluations (exam, assignment, project, etc.), and successfully defend prepared master thesis which is verified by academic jury.
